Not to be confused with Conjunction Junction. Fantastic and illustrious design hub Signalnoise is having a contest where you can design your own vintage-inspired poster. As soon as I read the post, I knew what I was going to do.
One of my greatest memories of my time with my Grandmother Ceyenne is those snow days where school would be called off and we would sit in the den and watch tv together.

We would always start with The Price is Right, then proceed to Days of Our Lives, and by the time she got to Guiding Light or One Life to Live I’d stop paying attention and go play outside or something. But, the image of us together is so emblazoned in my mind that when it snows I absolutely have to watch The Price is Right. Weird how the mind works, right?

My very first post on this blog was a study I did for a poster that looked like the set of The Price is Right with it’s original colors. I’ll repost it:

Plinko, the showcase showdown, the wheel, the midwestern housewives with Suzanne Sugarbaker hair, the overwhelming 70’s-ness of the design. God, I love it. I’m thinking of doing something like the study above for it with a play on words. Good times, y’all. I’ll show you as I finally make progress. 10 months after I said I would. :)
