More progress on my EP.
I just heard this song two days ago but I love it an unhealthy amount. So I want to record a little cover. The vocals on this (sketch!) were recorded on a phone, so I’ll have to slip into the studio before it’s done. Also there’s another verse.

i kinda want to do every thing myself including like filming a little video using projections I create (like the one above) and editing myself it to see what the process is like before I do it with one of my songs.
:)
First time I’m posting full vocals for something. I wrote everything, from the lyrics to the production. Super proud! Still needs work though, obviously. Listen to me SING. Off key in places, at the moment, but that’s what you get for recording on your iPhone in bed. But that’s why its a work in progress!
LYRICS:
V.1
Again, I woke this morning
and just for a moment
I thought that you were here
I hate that it still happens
guess I’m simply broken
all because you’re gone
B.1
the war inside my mind, it
says I’m so much better,
better off without you, but
my heart, it yells for me to
run to reconcile with you
& start things off again,
so, its a
C:
Slow mend without you, my friend
Its a slow mend without you, my friend
Loved you once I may never be able again
Its a slow mend without you, my friend
Its a slow mend, when we’re only friends
Loved you once I may never be able
to love someone again
V.2
It’s really not so easy
to say what I’m feeling
especially to you
This heart’s a stubborn bastard
attaches, won’t let go,
still stuck to you with glue
B.2
It feels that I last saw you
a thousand and one years ago
but that’s down from an eternity
the signs that I am healing
combat with what I’m feeling
complete I’ll never be
boy, its a
Chorus (x2)
In addition to looking up song structure, I’ve also been listening to inspirational songs for inspiration for a song I’m writing about inspiration. Yeah, I know.
Lovely. There’s just no other word for it. Here’s the original, which actually is much closer to the kind of stuff I write:
I guess I’m old fashioned. In my songwriting, at least. What the songs are about… are quite different… LOL.
This is more of The Beatles I love. And speaking of quartets I love…
Fun Fact #2: When I list inspirations, Boyz II Men and Tori Amos share the list with Peter Gabriel. Eclectic.
(Shut up, this is a good song. You have to admit the first time you heard it you liked it. It was the 700th time you heard it that you wanted to kill yourself. Also, R Kelly’s wild frantic inspirational fist shaking and 90’s hot wardrobe is enough reason to watch this again.)
More modeling in Cinema4D. (A) is the model before I created the coffee cup (B) in three dimensions. I kind of like it for the back of my business cards as well.
I want to create an animation to introduce my skill set to potential employers, and start those videos (and any future video blogs on here) with Coffee being poured into my “Joe” cup and the heart beating a few beats. All with a jazzy intro written and composed in Ableton— by myself.
See what I’m getting at here? I can do it all! and wear it in a fabulous outfit to boot.
